Robin Hood festival of running

September 2011 (date tbc)
Nottingham

The Robin Hood festival of running includes a marathon, half marathon, family fun run, marathon relay and mini marathon. All events take place on a weekend in September with the marathon and half marathon starting together. A big thank you to all runners who took part in the 2010 event in support of the MS Society.

The half marathon starts and finishes alongside the River Trent at Victoria Embankment and passes many of Nottingham's famous sights, including Nottingham castle, Wollaton deer park and Wollaton Hall. The full marathon runners split off at about 12.5 miles and run along the promenade path by the Trent and under Trent Bridge. The route then passes the National Water Sports Centre and Holme Pierrepoint Hall before also finishing at Victoria Embankment.

Places in the 2011 races will open next year and you can register your interest on the Robin Hood festival of running website.
